An elder sister of the 27-year-old lady that was allegedly killed by her former boyfriend, has revealed that the suspect stabbed her sister 22 times.
The deceased, Shoyinka Ayisat, according to her sister's post on her X page, disclosed that the massacre occurred last Thursday night, July 11,2024 in Ikorodu area of Lagos.
Since the incident, the suspect identified as Fatai Mogaji, who fled his Ikorodu home, abandoning the remains of his former girlfriend, was still on the run as of time of writing this report.
In a chat with the bereaved sister, Temitope revealed that there were 22 stitches on her late sister's body, indicating the number of times she was stabbed.
Describing her late sister sister , Temitope said, “She was 27 years old and a trader. The guy was her ex-boyfriend. She went clubbing at Bells Bar on Wednesday night in Ikorodu. She and her ex-boyfriend went home together after clubbing.
“At 4:45 am, she texted her friend and told her that her ex wanted to scam her, that he had promised her money before following her to his house, and he wasn't going to do the transfer. That was the last thing she said. Her friend started calling and calling, but she didn't pick up.”
“According to the landlord, he heard her shouting for help, so he went to call the police. However, before the police could arrive, the guy had locked her up in the house and fled. The police saw that after she was stabbed, the guy covered her with a bedsheet and put her in the kitchen. He stabbed her in 22 places, as the mortuary attendant stitched her body and noted 22 stitches. Since then, he has been on the run.
“The divisional police officer of Igbogbo confirmed to me that Mogaji's intention was to kill because they used six nylon bags to pack blood,” Temitope added.
