All heads of government's agencies and departments of have been called upon to strive to improve on and pursue Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) vigorously this year, as well as encourage workers under them to embrace the health insurance scheme of the government in their best interest.
The Ogun State Head of Service, Mr. Kolawole Fagbohun, made the call while on an unscheduled visit to some selected agencies of government, especially those under the Office of the Head of Service, to felicitate them on the commencement of a new year and spur them to action.
According to him, for this administration's ISEYA mantra to fulfill purpose, all hands of the workers must be on deck to work extra hard to ensure that the IGR of the State is improved upon, while all members of staff must be persuaded to enrol into the Ogun State Health Insurance Scheme (OGSHIA) which benefits far outweigh its token of registration.
He said the workers should continue to show more commitment and dedication to duty to justify the government's passion for the welfare of the Civil Servants as exemplified in the payments of 40% peculiar allowance, end of year bonus, palliative amongst others, and added that to whom much is given, much is expected.
"I came to say happy new year to you, to appreciate you for your cooperation and unwavering support in the past year; and to encourage you to strive to improve on the Internally Generated Revenue of your agency in particular and the State at large. Moreso, to urge you to embrace and enrol into the Ogun State Health Insurance Scheme (OGSHIA) in your best interest as cost of health management is now becoming unbearable, hence, the need to cushion it in case of any eventuality", the HoS said.
Responding, the Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Public Service Reforms, Mr. Jola Oyeneye, his counterparts from the Bureau of Establishments and Training, Mrs. Lydia Fajounbo, State Pensions, Mr. Adesoji Adewuyi, Civil Service Commission, Mrs. Roseline Jacobs, Bureau of Political Affairs and Administration, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, the Auditor General for State, Mr. Lateef Balogun, as well as the Chairmen, Civil Service Commission, Engr. Tokunbo Odebunmi and the State SUBEB, Dr. Femi Majekodunmi, appreciated the Head of Service for the surprised visit and promised to keep supporting the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration in all ramifications for maximum results.
On the HoS' entourage was Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Service Matters, Mr. Oladipupo Ogunfowora as well as Directors from the Bureau.
