Ogun Head of Service commends Perm. Secs, calls for IGR increase





The Ogun State Head of Service, Mr. 
Kolawole Fagbohun, has commended Permanent Secretaries in the State Civil Service  for their support, cooperation and tenacity in keeping the state moving, urging them to double their  efforts towards surpassing the 2023 Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the State.

Fagbohun, who gave the commendation at a meeting with the Body of Permanent Secretaries at the Conference Room of the Head of Service, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, stated that the Permanent Secretaries should be appreciated for ensuring that the Civil Service maintains its pride of place, with a positive impact on the progress of the state.

"For the state to be rated second in IGR performance is not an easy task. Thus, all efforts must be redoubled to enhance, retain and surpass it for the benefit of all citizens of the state’’, he said.

He commended the state Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for being gracious to the Body and the Civil Service, through approval of promotions, filling of vacancies, provision of official cars for Permanent Secretaries, approval of palliatives for all Public Servants, regular manpower development cutting across all strata of the Civil Service, approval and formation of various committees for the reform of the Civil Service, provision of CNG bus for workers, end of year bonus, among other benefits.

Earlier, the Chairman, Body of Permanent Secretaries, Engr. Olayiwola Abiodun and the Accountant General/Permanent Secretary, Treasury, Mr. Babatunde Aregbesola, in their separate submissions, gave kudos to the present administration for making the year 2023 memorable for all the workers.

In a related development, Mr. Fagbohun, implored members of staff of the Bureau of Service Matters, Office of the Head of Service, to take advantage of opportunities embedded in the Ogun State Health Insurance Agency (OGSHIA), scheme by enrolling in it to take care of their health needs, especially in case of any eventuality.

The HoS gave the advice while having his first meeting with the staff of the Bureau, at the Conference Room of the Head of Service, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, revealing that the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has approved the quarterly check-up of all the health of the workers tagged, "Know Your Health Status" and advised workers to take advantage of the free health check whenever the programme is advertised.

Mr. Fagbohun, while appreciating the workers for a job well done in the past year, urged them to enhance IGR by improving upon it, avoid leakages, wastages and eschew all forms of indiscipline, laziness and absenteeism, while dedication to duty and diligence must be embraced towards ensuring that all assignments committed to them were conscientiously carried out.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Service Matters, Mr. Oladipupo Ogunfowora, appreciated workers for the support received so far and solicited more, in order to meet all set objectives.
