Five days to the end of his administration, President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday, in the last Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting he will be presiding, swore-in seven Federal Commissioners of the Revenue Mobilisation, Fiscal and Allocation Commission (RMFC).
The brief exercise was done before the commencement of the valedictory session of the cabinet members, at the Council Chamber, Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The valedictory session is for members of the Cabinet to put finishing touches, cross the t's and dot the i's to a number of documents as well as treat outstanding memoranda from the various government Ministries, Departments and Agencies ahead of the exit of the administration on May 29, when a new government will be inaugurated.
The Federal Commissioners of the Revenue Mobilisation, Fiscal and Allocation Commission, RMFC, that took the oath of office were Peter Okpara (Imo), Senator Ayogu Eze (Enugu), Kolade Abimbola (Oyo), Rekiya Ayuba-Haruna (Kebbi), Hauwa Aliyu (Jigawa), Ismaila Agaka (Kwara), and Amb Ayuba Ngako representing the FCT.
Meanwhile at the closed door session currently underway, the Council received key highlights of the report of the Health Reform Committee headed by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
The Committee was put in place to develop a roadmap to achieving Universal Health Coverage in the country.
Among its recommendations include improving funding of the health sector above 10 percent.
