Ortom losses senatorial bid to APC






Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state has lost his bid to represent the Benue North West Senatorial District in the National Assembly. 

Governor Ortom who was the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the election lost to Mr. Titus Zam of the All Progressives Congress, APC. 

In the result announced by the Senatorial Collation Officer, Prof. Rufus Shaa'to in Makurdi, the APC candidate polled a total of 143,151 votes to defeat Governor Ortom who garnered 106,882 votes, while the Labour Party, LP, candidate Mr. Mark Gbillah scored 51,950 votes. 

Meanwhile the lawmaker represent Benue South District, Senator Abba Moro of the PDP, emerged victorious in the result announced Monday in Otukpo by the Senatorial Collation Officer, Prof. Robert Tee. 

Senator Moro polled a total of 76,459 to defeat his closest rival and APC candidate, Mr. Daniel Onje who polled 59,595 votes while the LP candidate, Mr. Joe Ojobo garnered 40,194
