Police presents N54.5m cheques to families of deceased officers in Katsina

The Katsina State Police Command has presented cheques worth N54.5 million to families and next of kin of police officers killed while fighting for the peace and progress of the nation.

The State Commissioner of Police, CP Shehu Umar Nadada presented the cheque to the beneficiaries on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Alkali Baba Usman.

Nadada while thanking the IGP for the gesture, urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the money for the betterment of the families of the deceased officers. 

While praying to God to repose the souls of the deceased police officers in paradise, Nadada also assured that the welfare of its officers and their families would continually be given primary attention under the Group Life Assurance Scheme.”

The Katsina State Commissioner of Police also use the opportunity to assure members of the public, especially those at the frontline areas that the Nigeria Police Force and indeed other security agencies will not relent in their effort to free the state from evey terrorists elements.

While seeking for partnership and cooperation of residents in the state, Nadada urged members of the communities to come forward and give out useful information to the security agencies about any person or group of persons suspected to be terrorists or their informants, assuring that  any information given will be treated with utmost confidentiality.

No fewer than 27 families of deceased Police Officers who died while in active service benefited from the IGP’s Family Welfare Insurance Scheme.

One of the beneficiaries, Abutu Umoru, on behalf of the others thanked the Inspector-General of Police for the welfare package, promising to make judicious use of it.
