The All Progressive Congress (APC) said its plan is to capture 30 state by the end of 2023 general elections.
The Acting Director General, Progressive Governor's Forum, Mr. Folorunsho Aluko stated this at the Progressive Governors Forum Commissioners of Information and Media & Communication Steering Committee meeting which was held at the Glass house, Lokoja.
The DG said with 22 states already in their kitten, the party is napping out strategy to increase state control by APC to 30 by the end of 2023 governorship elections.
The DG, PGF also eulogized Governor Yahaya Bello for the hospitality shown to the commissioners and the Progressive Governors, "We truly appreciate you for hosting this Strategy Meeting of PGF Media and Communications Programmes with Honourable Commissioners for Information of APC States. We want to thank you for the consistent support and cooperation we received from you and team at the PGF.
"We have gone round Lokoja and seen the good work, and we are indeed proud of what you are doing in Kogi State; know that true Kogites are happy with Your Excellency and administration.
"We saw the good road network, the flourishes SMEs, the happy people, the world class General Hospital and indeed, the Muhammadu Buhari Square- more beautiful than the Eagles square in Abuja."
Speaking to the committee, Governor Yahaya Bello said the party must remained united to achieved the aim of capturing 30 states by next year elections.
Gov. Bello urged the participants to take a critical look into the two prototype bills before them; a bill for social media crimes Law 2022, and Livestock Management Agency for the purpose of Animal Identification, traceability, registration and for other related matters; pointing out that the bills if put in place have the propensity to create peace and peaceful coexistence amongst the citizens of the country.
He also urged the Information Commissioners to spread the news of the good works in Kogi state to their principals and members of the public.
Bello who was represented at the session by His Deputy, Edward Onoja said, “His Excellency has approved that you should visit some sites of the Legacy Projects that affect human life which topped the thematic areas of his administration.
"We are happy with the establishment of the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara.
"Also, my administration did not allow the negative impact of COVID-19 weigh the State down. The State now has seven world class health facilities spread across the State."
He particularly mentioned the Okene reference Hospital, as one of the best Hospitals in Northern Nigeria today, said the remodeling of the Specialists Hospital in Lokoja, is a justification that his administration is living its name in repositioning the health sector.
Bello equally noted that he has surpassed the 35% women affirmative action in appointment, now heading to 40%, "With the signing of the disability bill into law and the establishment of the disability Commission, people with disabilities are now made to run there commission, an inclusive representation, achieved by my administration, with people described as disabled now at the helms of affairs."
The host Commissioner, Kingsley Fanwo charged the Information Commissioners to play their roles as the custodian of information and communication in their respective states, "Despite the fact that we are not part of the Presidential Campaign council, we are still going to play our parts in the Information Management and ensure that our Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu emerges as the winner."
