Aftermath of Ward Congress: Sheath your swords, work in unity - Ogun PDP scribe begs LG party chairmen

 By Peter Adedoyin

The State Secretary of the Ogun State chapter of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Sunday Solarin, has appealed to the local government chairmen of party to sheath their swords and work in unity ahead of 2023 general elections.

Solarin, in a statement made available to newsmen in Abeokuta, said that
a joint petition written by the body of Local Government Chairmen seeking the disqualification of three Ad hoc delegates conducted in the State was not a sign of oneness of the party.

He added that it was also regrettable that 18 out of 20 local government Chairmen signed the petition, urging the petitioners to "calm down, reunite and work together."

He noted that cooperation is highly needed as critical stakeholders in the collective struggle to win and control machinery of government in Ogun State come 2023.

The statement reads, "Permit me to plead with all of you to please sheath sword and not make further attempt to leave this our structure disunited at this critical point".

"We learnt about a joint petition written by the body of Local Government Chairmen seeking the disqualification of the 3 Ad hoc delegates conducted in Ogun State. Regrettably names of 18 out of our 20 Chairmen appeared on the petition; which is not a sign of oneness".

"We must be reminded of the length of this struggle and the little time required of us for rewarding endurance. We shouldn't be annoyed at this point to the extent of allowing the long lasting unity go adrift".

"Kindly allow us calm down, reunite and work together. Our cooperation is highly needed as critical stakeholder in our collective struggle to win and control machinery of government in Ogun State".

"I must also remind all of us that our contributions to the healthy existence of PDP in Ogun State can not be overemphasized and we should not afford this efforts to waste away".

"We look forward to continued working harmony in the remaining moments of struggle and together we shall sing the glorious song together."
