By Our Correspondent

The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, has given his royal nod and blessings to Hon. Oluwatobi Taiwo Doregos, over his intention to contest for House of Assembly in the State.

The monarch gave the blessings during Hon. Dorego's visit to the Ake palace as part of his familiarisation tour to those that are key in Egbaland for endorsement and  to use the occasion as a platform of informing  them about the contest which he kick started from the Ake palace in the presence of the Alake of Egbaland.

Oba Gbadebo commended the family lineage of Doregos and described the family as a very trustworthy one with a name that can be proud of at any point in time, highly discipline, faithful, reliable, committed and also dedicated to serve humanity at large with a clear integrity.

The royal father noted that, the roles that his late political father, Chief Segun Taiwo, the former Oluwo Ake played during his struggle to become the Alake of Egbaland cannot be forgotten in the history of his reign as the paramount ruler of Egbaland and will forever be grateful to the family.

He said, with the little that he knows and heard about Dorego, he is a good son of Egbaland that can lead people rightly as much not difference between him and his father.

Kabiesi further urged the people of Egbaland to support his candidacy and admonished him to always look back at the people that work with him before getting to the position and also not contest election for his personal gains rather for the sake of serving humanity at large as a good representative of his people.

Oba Gbadebo assured him of the support of the people of Egbaland in his quest and he should never let them down when he assume office, appealing to him to be more concern about the good name left behind by his family and make sure he fulfil every single promise made to the people and not far from them.

He therefore wished him the best in his quest to represent Abeokuta South Constituency 1 at Ogun State House of Assembly.

Hon. Oluwatobi Taiwo Doregos is a native of Egba Ake, Abeokuta South Local Government area of the State , whom had served in various capacity both at the State and outside the State.

A philanthropist, promoter of Egba cultural heritage and Yoruba culture in general.

Among the high Chiefs at the Ake palace with Kabiesi are the Bantun of Egbaland, High Chief Kehinde Sofenwa, the first Alawo-erin of Egbaland, High Chief Nurudeen Olaleye among others.
