A former Governor of Ogun State and Senator, representing Ogun East Senatorial District, Senator Gbenga Daniel has denied his purported plan to join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
It would be recalled that Senator Daniel and one Hon. Kunle Folarin were last week suspended by the State chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC), over alleged anti-party activities.
According to a statement issued by
the OGD Media Office, and made available to Vanguard, the purported plan by Senator Daniel to rejoin PDP is far from the truth, stressing that the Senator remains a member of APC.
It reads, "For the avoidance of doubt, Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel is and remains a member of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, elected and remains on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Daniel was the governor of the State between 2003 and 2011.
Former Governor Daniel joined APC in 2021, at a grand reception in Abeokuta.
