EFCC nabs 18 suspected internet fraudsters in Ogun






.......kingpin allegedly defrauded victim of N200m

IDI-IROKO, OGUN STATE – Operatives of the Ibadan Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have apprehended eighteen suspected internet fraudsters in Ogun State. The arrests were made at the Prime Garden Hotel, located in Atan-iju, Idi-iroko Road, acting on actionable intelligence regarding their alleged fraudulent online activities.

Among those arrested, a suspected kingpin is alleged to have defrauded a victim of a staggering sum of N200 million. Items recovered from the alleged kingpin include a red Lexus IS 250 vehicle, a box of jewelry, a mix of foreign and local currencies, a driver's license belonging to a female U.S. citizen named Eva Lovia, and an identification card for a male U.S. military officer identified as Julian Miguel Arroyo.



Further recoveries from the other suspects include a vehicle, several laptop computers, and various incriminating documents.

The EFCC has stated that all suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of ongoing investigations.
