Tragedy struck in Lagos when a 55-year-old woman, identified as Ifeoma, collapsed and died while giving a testimony during a church service at the Zonal Accountant Ministry Church in the Ejigbo area.
According to a report filed at the Iyana Ejigbo Police Station by the church, the incident occurred at approximately 8:48 a.m. during the testimony hour of the service.
Witnesses reported that Ifeoma came forward, singing, to share her testimony when she suddenly collapsed.
Immediate efforts were made to rush her to a nearby hospital. However, she was referred to the General Hospital in Isolo, where doctors confirmed her death.
Lagos State Police spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident, stating, "On the 8th of September, at about 11:45 a.m., a member of the Zonal Accountant Ministry Church, located at Iyana Ejigbo, Lagos, reported that during the testimony hour, one Ifeoma, aged about 55 years, collapsed and was later confirmed dead at the General Hospital, Isolo."
Police detectives were dispatched to the hospital, but upon arrival, they were informed that Ifeoma's husband and family had already taken her body to Anambra State for burial.
The exact cause of her sudden death remains unclear, and authorities have not yet announced whether an investigation will be launched into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
