Hunger: FG committed to tackle hunger - Ogun House of Reps member

A member of House of Representatives, representing representing Abeokuta North,  Obafemi-Owode, Odeda Federal constituency of Ogun State, Hon. Olumide Osoba, has assured Nigerians, that the President Bola Tinubu-led federal government is working round the clock to alleviate hardship been faced by Nigerians, occasioned by food shortage 

Osoba, who gave the assurance, at a food support programme for members of his Constituency, noted that the Federal Government is aware of the current food crisis in the country, stressing that it will spare no efforts to eradicate hunger in the land.

"The government is aware that these are tough times and will leave no stone unturned to roll out programmes that could help to alleviate the suffering and take care of the people's well-being".

He said "the Federal Government and the National Assembly will  continue to initiate interventions to ensure that no family in Nigeria goes hungry.

According to Osoba, the comprehensive food support programme is aimed at alleviating food insecurity and economic hardship in his constituency. 

The initiative, tagged, “Community Food Support,” has seen the distribution of 1,000 bags of rice to vulnerable households across 38 wards in the Constituency.

The distribution exercise, which commenced at weekend, has been widely praised by residents and community leaders.

The people believed that the intervention across the constituency will help to cushion the effect of the inflated prices of food commodities and challenge of hunger in the country 

Speaking at the programme, Osoba, said that the initiative was a testament to his dedication to making a positive impact in the lives of those who need it most. 

Beneficiaries of the program have expressed gratitude, noting that the support has brought relief to their families. 

One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Aisha Olumoroti from Obafemi/Owode local government, expressed gratitude, saying the support has brought relief to her family.

Another beneficiary, Mr. Olurotimi from Abeokuta North local government noted that the food items came at a crucial times when the prices of food commodities have continued to skyrocket thanking the lawmaker for deeming it fit to support the people in his constituency.

The initiative is expected to continue in the coming weeks, with more distributions planned across the constituency.
