The Olu of Itori in Ewekoro local government area of Ogun State, Oba Fatai Akamo, has disclosed why he chose to squat to speak to the State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, at a public function in Lagos.
Oba Akamo, said he did so because the governor has promised to fix his community’s road and build a general hospital for his community.
The monarch, speaking in Yoruba, added that if the meeting with the governor had been private, he would have shown even greater respect by prostrating and rolling on the floor.
He recounted their conversation, saying, “When I met with him, he said, “Your Majesty, I have good news for you. They will begin the construction on the express road within the next three weeks.’
“The governor also promised to complete the General Hospital within six months. If our meeting had been private, I would have prostrated and rolled on the ground in reverence before him.”
