Two youths have reportedly died mysterious after drinking native concoction during a yearly age group festival, tagged Ibogbe festival, in the ancient town of Ipe, in Akoko South East council area of ondo state.
Another youth, Adu Johnson, reportedly went into coma after drinking the same concortion with others.
Sources said that Adu is presently on admission in the hospital.
Findings showed that one of the victims came for the festival from Abuja while others resides in the community.
The deceased include Ojulewa Alex and Alonge Samuel
The native concortion was said to have been prepared for the festival by one of the villagers identified as Ojulewa, a brother to one of the victims.
Eyewitness account said that Ojulewa and the deceased drank the concortion and few hours later collapsed during the ceremony.
The trio reportedly started vomiting while the ceremony was on and later died.
Contacted, the police spokesperson, Funmi Odunlami, confirmed the death of the two youths after consuming native concortion during the yearly festival.
Odunlami said that a Chief in the town, lodged the complaint at the lsua, police station.
She added that after drinking the native concortion, the trio, started vomiting and two of the them died during the festival.
The spokesperson added that the third victim, was rushed to the hospital after he went into coma.
Odunlami said the corpses of the victims have been deposited in the mortuary.
