The Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara state has matriculated a total number of 9,925 students into various academic programmes for its 2023/2024 academic session.
Rector of the institution Engr Kadiri Kamoru Oluwatoyin speaking during the 30th matriculation ceremony in Offa who said that the school has zero tolerance against all vices, charged the students to shun prostitution and Bobrisky kind of lifestyle.
He further charged the students on total adherence to oath of allegiance and obedience to the rules and regulations of constituted authorities in the institution, saying that the oath conferred on them the rights, privileges and responsibilities of a genuine students of the institution.
The rector advised the students to shun all acts of disobedience, truancy, absenteeism, indecent dressing and prostitution.
"Do not engage in cultism and hooliganism, cyber-bullying, negative social media usage, and all other forms of cyber crimes". He stressed
He further advised the students to be security conscious, saying that the situation in the country today requires everyone to be at alert.
"Therefore, always let your friends, colleagues or roommates know your whereabouts. Avoid night crawling, and do not walk alone in secluded places. If you notice any strange item or persons with strange movement, notify the security unit immediately."
