Kidnappers abduct two in Ogun

Ogun State Police command on Tuesday said, hoodlums suspected to be kidnappers have abducted one Nurat Ogundipe and a commercial motorcycle rider in Imeko, Imeko/Afon local government area of Ogun State.

Spokesperson of the command, SP Omolola Odutola, disclosed this in a statement issued and made available to newsmen in Abeokuta, the State capital.

According to Odutola, the incident was reported at Divisional Police Officer of Imeko Division, by an eye witnesses

She added that the victims were kidnapped on Monday at about 1500hrs, while returning from Ijio Iwere Ile, a community in Oyo state  which shares boundaries with Ogun State. 

Odutola disclosed that the DPO in collaboration with hunters, forest guards, Vigilante, So Safe and Amotekun have been deployed to the forest on bush combing, to ensure the rescue and safety of the two persons kidnapped".

The statement reads, "a suspected case of kidnapping was reported through eye witnesses account to the Divisional Police Officer of Imeko Division".

"According to the report, one Nurat Ogundipe “f” who was a pillon on a commercial motorcycle was abducted along with the commercial motorcycle rider on the 1st of April 2024 at about 1500hrs, while returning from Ijio Iwere Ile a community in Oyo state  that shares boundaries with Ogun State". 

"Following the abduction, the DPO in collaboration with hunters, forest guards, Vigilante, So Safe and Amotekun have been deployed to the forest on bush combing, to ensure the rescue and safety of the two persons kidnapped".

"The Commissioner of Police has been briefed and other security formations have been alerted". 

"There is no cause for fear, as materials resources  and all external security measures have been activated to guarantee that the victims are released safely".
