A youth corps member serving in Delta State, Ige Adedayo has reportedly died in a lone accident at Ago Adura area, Itori along Sango-Abeokuta expressway.

Adedayo was said to have been among the corps members who just left the orientation camp and probably came home for the Easter break before meeting his untimely death.

He was said to be an indigene of Ogun State and graduated from D S Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic which was just a stone throw to where he had the accident.

The crash which reportedly occurred on Saturday involved a Mercedes-Benz with number plate JJJ168JF.

The Spokesman for the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed the crash in a statement sent to journalists in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital.

Akinbiyi said, according to eye witness account, "the car driver dosed off while driving which led to loss of control, tumbled and crashed from inward to outward lane".

The statement had also claimed that the deceased was a corper serving with D S Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic, Itori but a reliable source within the National Youth Service Corps, Ogun State had debunked the report.

The source who pleaded to remain anonymous because of protocol said "we have done our investigation, no corper serving in Ogun State is missing, the one reported to have unfortunately died in an accident on Saturday, one Ige Adedayo Samuel was a corper serving in Delta.

He might have probably come home for the Easter break before meeting his untimely death. His code number is DT/24A/1478. He was said to have finished from D S Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic, Itori just few metres to the spot of the accident".

The remains of the corper has reportedly been deposited at Ifo General Hospital.
