Borno LG boss, Hon. Walama is dead









The Chairman of Shani local government area in Borno State, Hon. Madu Lawan Buba Walama is dead.

The Chairman died while undergoing treatment in Abuja on Tuesday morning.

Aged about 71 years old, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chieftain, according to reliable source "was suffering from diseases linked with diabetes, Liver and Kidney complications for sometimes before he was flown to Abuja last week for further treatment."

It was gathered that, before his demise, Hon. Walama has been the Chairman of Shani for several terms. He has also served as Special Adviser to the former governors in the state.

He had also served as the erstwhile  commissioner in the Borno State Ministry of Animal and Fisheries.

This is even as Senator Mohammed Ndume, representing Southern Borno senatorial district has extended his condolences to the families of the deceased.

A great politician and a respected elder statesman in Shani, Hon. Walama was happily married with two wives and six children.

Although, the Borno state Government under the leadership of Governor Babagana Zulum is yet to issue any statement regarding the death of Hon. Walama, several people and family members have started sharing the news of his demise on Facebook and other social media platforms.

According to a senior staff in Shani LGA, who is not authorized to talk to the press confirmed the incident, saying: "Yes Hon. Madu Walama, the Executive Chairman of Shani is no more. He died this morning in Abuja after a protracted illness.

"May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, and Grant him with Jannatul Firdaus Amin Ya Rabbi". He stated.
