The one-week warning strike declared by the national body The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and
the Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU) recorded partial compliance in Ogun State.
The two unions at the Federal University of Agriculture (FUNAAB), Abeokuta and Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye, both in Ogun State on Monday joined the warning strike as directed by their national executives
A check by our Correspondent revealed that members of the two unions in the two universities complied 100% with the strike directive.
It was gathered that despite the strike, academic activities in the two institutions were not affected as students go about their normal lectures.
The Chairman of SSANU in FUNAAB, Williams Fasunwon said, "our members complied 100% with the warning strike.
"The strike in anyway doesn't affect academic activities of the students, because they will soon start their examination, so the tempo on academic activities has gone down.
But, the story was not the same at Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Ijagun Ijebu Ode, as the two unions in the university refused to join the strike.
Speaking with Vanguard under the condition of anonymity, a member of SSANU at TASUED said they did not join the strike because the the issue that led to the strike only affects members in federal Universities.
He said, "we in the State government-owned university have nothing to do with this strike, because whenever we have issue to settle at the state Universities, the national body would not fight for our course.
