Hardship: Osoba gives palliative to 7,500 constituents

A member of the House of Representatives, representing Abeokuta North/Obafemi-Owode/Odeda Federal Constituency, Hon. Olumide Babatunde Osoba, has distributed the federal government palliative to no fewer than 7,500 members of his constituency.

The event, which was organized by the lawmaker in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, was held at the Ataba Close, Ibara GRA, Abeokuta.

Speaking with journalists, Osoba said the federal government is concerned with the hardship and is currently working to make life better for everyone.

He said, “we have been supplied with these food items to deliver to our constituents. Figures are so difficult to believe. You have heard in the media all sorts of amounts".

"All I know is that no member of the House of Representatives has been given a dime. What you are seeing is facilitated by the Ministry of Agriculture and delivered by a contractor, so nobody was giving any money".

“It is all about collective efforts. You do your bit and I do my bit. If I do over 7,000 today and in December I gave N100,000 to 800 people, it is adding up. Everybody must do their bit.”

Earlier in his speech, the speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Oludaisi Elemide commended Olumide Osoba for his kind gesture, saying that he is a man of his words and has delivered on his promises.

In their remarks, the representative of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Ogun state Chapter (CAN) and representative of Ogun state League of Imam expressed satisfaction with the measures put in place for the distribution of the palliatives by Hon. Osoba, describing the process as transparent.
