The village head of Riruwai in Lame District of Bauchi Emirate in Toro LGA of Bauchi State, Alhaji Garba Badamasi has been reportedly killed after he was kidnapped from his palace three days ago.
It was gathered that the gunmen invaded the community on Friday, 15th of March.
One of the traditional title holders in the village who confirmed the development, said that the monarch was their target.
He said that they shot randomly at the locals, scared them away and abducted the village head.
Some community stakeholders had launched a search on Badamasi before he was found dead close to the village.
His corpse was taken to the palace of the District Head of Lame in Gumau on Sunday, 17th March for funeral prayers and subsequent burial in accordance with Islamic injunctions.
The late Alhaji Garba Badamasi was said to have spent one day in captivity with his abductors before he was gruesomely murdered and his body dumped around the village.
