FCE, Abeokuta, holds 25th Convocation, 48th Founding Day

Activities marking the 25th Convocation ceremony and 48th Founding Day Anniversary of the Federal College of Education, Osiele, Abeokuta, Ogun State,  have been released.

According to a statement signed by the Registrar of the institution, Dr. Gabriel Adebayo, and made available to News Frontier on Saturday, indicated that the two-in-one ceremony which began on Friday with a Jumat Service at the College Central Mosque, will run through to Thursday 7th March.


Other activities include a thanksgiving service on Sunday, March 3, at the Chapel of Peace, by 10.00am.

There will be Health Walk tagged 'Keep Fit Exercise' by 7.00am at the College Sports Centre, on Monday 4  and a media briefing to be followed by 12.00pm at the Council Chamber .

Health Awareness programme has been scheduled to hold on Tuesday by 9.00am, musical presentation and Convocation Play by 11.00am at the Theatre Arts auditorium, while a novelty match comes up 3.00pm on the same day.

On Wednesday, March 6, there will be exhibition by Schools, Directorates and Departments by 8.00am at Dr. Kunle Filani Academic Theatre; commissioning of projects.

On the same day, the Chairman, Federal Civil Service Commission and Professor of Public Policy, Lead City University, Tunji Olaopa will be delivering the Convocation lecture with the topic "Dual-Mode Programme in Colleges of Education as Catalyst for Advancing Teacher Education in Nigeria: Issues, Challenges and Opportunities", under the chairmanship of former Executive Secretary, National Universities Commission, Prof. Peter Okebukola, @ Dr Kunle Filani Academic Theatre. 


The statement added that there will be award and cultural day by 3:30pm at FENACOMS Hall, and Alumni Night by 7.00pm.

The Conferment of Fellowship Awards and Awards of Prizes holds on the graduation day at Aduke Maina Hall by 10.00am
