Gunmen invade birthday party, kill ten, behead one in Anambra


         



 Oba community in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State has been thrown into mourning and fears, following late Sunday night invasion by gunmen of Porsche Night Club, located at Aborji Community Oba along Oba Nnewi New road.

According to a reliable source in Oba the gunmen killed seven vigilante operatives of which one was beheaded, three attendees of the ceremony that was hosted by the night club were killed, while not less than ten people sustained matchet injuries.

It was gathered that the club was hosting a birth party for a particular celebrant who the source said may have been the target by the gunmen

It is not yet clear if the invading gunmen got their target or whether the alleged beheaded victim was their target, but the source disclosed the gun men opened fire immediately they invaded the night club located almost opposite Felixo Hotel Oba.

The invading gunmen were said to have machetes many victims as a warning against and obstruction from carrying out their mission after killing ten and beheading one.

The source noted that the manner the hoodlums carried out their attack had characteristics of cult men's attack, adding that the reason for the attack may not be unconnected with business disagreement or cult related war which is becoming rampant in one part of Oba, particularly that New Road.

Some people who reacted on the attack expressed worry over the attack of innocent people who may have attended the birthday party to enjoy themselves after the weeks struggles, adding that attack innocent people who graced the party was uncalled, for if they actually they came for the celebrant.

The Anambra State Police command confirmed the killing, saying that most of the victims were operatives of local vigilante in Oba, deployed to provide security in Porsche night club

Confirming the horrific incident, was the spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, who said operatives have been deployed to the area while the bodies of the slain vigilante operatives have also been recovered.

“Yes, the incident happened. Our men were alerted and they quickly moved to the scene of the incident, but the gunmen had already fled as at the time they got there.

“Our men have recovered the bodies of the vigilante operatives who were fatally wounded, while others sustained various degrees of injury.

“We have also fully deployed our men to Oba, and operation is ongoing. So far, no arrest has been made,”
