A draft of alleged judgement in favour of the impeachment of Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, to be delivered by a Federal High Court holden in Abuja has leaked.
The development has worsened the already ruptured peace between the Government of the state and the former governor Nyesom Wike.
It was gathered that the Federal High Court in Abuja in suit no FHC/ABJ/CS/1681/2023, had written a judgement to give powers to the 25 Pro-Wike lawmakers in the Rivers State House of Assembly to impeach Fubara.
The suit was filed by the 25 lawmakers lead by Rt. Hon. Martin Amaehwule, the factional Speaker of the Assembly, who is standing as the first respondent.
The judgement on an Experte application filed by the applicants, the 25 lawmakers who decamped to the All Progressives Congress, APC, last week, is alleged to be written by Justice Donatus Okorowo of Federal High Court 8 Abuja.
It is alleged that the Experte order was arranged to be entered on Monday to give way for anti-Fubara's lawmakers to commence impeachment process on the Governor.
The alleged judgement was also prepared to stop the declaration of the seat of the 25 said lawmakers vacant (an action that have been done) and also give them (the lawmakers) the legitimacy to move in with DSS and police to start an impeachment process on Fubara .
It was learned that the draft was mistakenly shared yesterday by a principal officer of the Pro-wike lawmakers on a WhatsApp platform, although , the hurriedly deleted it on realisation.
The plan is to secure the Justice Okorowo's ruling which is already written, deliver it tomorrow and serve Fubara impeachment notice Tuesday, Barr. A Mustapha of Judiciary Integrity, Transparency and Reform Defenders, exposed.
The source said: "The Judge already know that there is an existing High Court ruling from Rivers State which barred the former lawmakers from parading themselves and also recognized Edison Ehie as New Speaker and instead directing them to Appeal it , He wants to give the Pro- Wike a midnight injunction to enable them embark on the next stage of their madness which will lead to deadly crisis.
The Integrity group called on well meaning Rivers residents to mobilise to the Federal High Court in Abuja Monday.
