Prison warders aide criminal activities in Correctional Centres- General Musa

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa has revealed that criminal who are captured in various correctional centers across the country still carry out their criminal operations outside through the help of some prison warders. 

General Musa made the disclosure during the sectorial debate organized by the House of Representatives during plenary in Abuja.

Recall the the House had rescheduled the meeting from last week to today after the security chiefs could not appear for the debate. 

According to General Musa, the criminal act by some prison warders must be looked into by the government in order to help the armed forces tackle insecurity in the country. 

He said "The issue of correctional centers must be looked into because we have come to realize that some criminal who are in captivity still carry out their criminal operations from the correctional centers  through the help of some prison warders, this must be seriously looked into. 

Also Speaking further on some challenges the armed forces are faced with in tackling insecurity,  Musa said that the Force is underfunded thereby there is a need for salaries to be increased, he said this will go a long way to boost the moral of troops. 

He also called out the government of Finland saying they need to explain to Nigeria why they are protecting Samuel Ekpa who according to him has become a menace to the country. 

" In the area of our foreign services, Finland authority need to explain to Nigeria why they shielding Samuel Ekpa to do what what he is doing . He has become a serious threat to this country and they must be looked into .  

Speaking further Musa said the the issue of poorest borders across country especially Niger state has been a serious challenge for the Armed Forces as this must be looked into in order to help tackle insecurity in the country. 

"Every Nigerian must bee security as their business.  Security is everyone's responsibility,  security forces can only provide 30 percent, security also has to do with health,  social,  education and others,  everyone must be able to speak up in order to assist the security forces", de added.
