Cash transfer without good economy, jobs for our children meaningless - Veteran tells Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, should focus on fixing the economy and job creation for the unemployed, instead of cash transfers  to Nigerians as palliative for fuel subsidy removal.

A retired soldier, Sergeant Kalu Ndem, gave the advice in Abia.

The veteran thanked the Federal Government for extending the fuel subsidy palliative to veterans, but observed it would not make much impacts considering the prevailing economic hardship in the country.

He said, the depreciation of the Naira had rendered cash transfers  to Nigerians almost useless as it would make little or no difference.

Ndem insisted that offering permanent solution to Nigeria's economic malady should be paramount.

"Focus on reviving the economy. Nigeria can't be living on borrowing. This is a ritual and every administration comes up with its own programme. But the best will be to fix the economy and make it work for everybody.

"Revamp the moribund companies, create job for the youths, give jobs to families of fallen heroes. Teach their children how to fish and not to be giving them fish".
