28 years old man targets Guinness World record with 606kms Lagos - Port Harcourt marathon






A 28 years old athlete,  Promise Nwosu, popularly called Wene Port Harcourt, had on Tuesday started an attempt to break the longest foot marathon by an individual.


Nwosu hails from Omudioga Community in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State and lives in Port Harcourt.


Nwosu started off at Lekki in Lagos at 4:00am, Tuesday, and targets to cover 606 kilometers on foot from the location to Port Harcourt in five days.


Although, it is not clear if the officials of Guinness World Record book are aware of the move, but the contender to the record book has already covered from Lagos to Warri in Delta State as at Friday evening.


He is expected to arrive Port Harcourt Government House, Rivers State, on Saturday, at about 3:00pm.


Promise had on his Facebook page while on the process said: "I've been hiding in my shells since 2018, fighting depression, set back, disappointment, betrayal and personal demons, I'm hitting the high ways to keep my life high, I type this with pains in my feet and an empty stomach, I'm a lone soldier, I go all out and don't look back, I've been here for a long time, my story is longer than the total distance covered, I know you don't care, keep it that way.. I'm on the high way The pain isn't new, it just renewed.
