The Iyalode of Oyan, Grace Agboola, has reportedly escaped from kidnappers den, where she, along with five others were held captive.
It was gathered that some gunmen waylaid the six victims late on Monday while returning from a farm at Aworo village, along Ila road between Osun and Kwara states.
The kidnappers forcefully abducted the six of them and in the process, some persons near the village heard the shout for help.
A source in Oyan who pleaded anonymity disclosed that after hearing of the incident, youngmen from the town rushed to the scene but the victims and abductors were nowhere to be found.
"Later in the early hours of Tuesday, the Iyalode who was among the victim escaped and find her way back to the community", said the source.
Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Osun command, Kehinde Adeleke said the Iyalode, one Fadahunsi Apata, one Surveyor Ige and three other person yet-to-be identified were abducted at gunpoint around Aworo/Asi area along Ila road in Odo-Otin local government area of Osun state on Monday evening.
"But, as at today, Tuesday, the Iyalode of Oyan, Mrs Grace Agboola has escaped from the kidnappers den while the five other victims are still held captive by the gunmen.
"Meanwhile security operatives along with local hunters are currently in the area for search and rescue mission", she stated.
