Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has appointed a lawyer, Barr Sola Akintola, as the Commissioner for the state Ministry of Health.
The Governor, after inaugurating the new commissioners on Wednesday, allotted the Ministry to the legal practitioner contrary to usual practice, where a medical doctor is appointed to head the Ministry.
When the appointment was announced, the audience expressed surprised at the pronouncement.
Similarly, a lawyer was also appointed to head the Ministry of Information, Kolapo Alimi contrary to believe in the state that a seasoned journalist maybe appointed to head the Ministry.
He also stressed that the new commissioners need to be innovative and creative in a bid to serve the state better.
"I love thinking out of the box in governance. As political heads of your ministries, be very innovative. Generate and implement new ideas.
"In times of national economic emergency, I love achieving much with little resources. Be prudent and adopt measures that reduce cost of projects and services. As we all know, I am a team player. There won't be any room for solo actors in our cabinet. You must work as a team with a common goal to make a difference in the lives of our people", he said.
