Trinity Guy remanded in Agodi prison

Popular prankster, the Trinity Guy, who was arrested last week after a warrant was issued for his arrest, has been remanded at the Agodi Correctional center.

A Magistrate's Court in Ibadan, which heard the allegations made by the police against the prankster, on Monday, ordered him to be kept in Agodi Correctional facility until next month.

This is coming after Trinity Guy got on the nerves of the men of the Nigeria Police, when he released a prank video, where he was seen sexually molesting a minor.

The video got a lot of negative reactions from members of the public, which made the police act by inviting him, after initially issuing a warrant for his arrest last Thursday.

The Oyo state police Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Adewale Osifeso, confirmed the invitation in a statement on Thursday in Ibadan.

“The Oyo State Police Command wishes to inform good citizens and indeed the general public that content creator Abdullahi Maruf, also known as ‘Trinity’, has been invited in connection with a disturbing viral video ‘skit’ making the rounds. The video slightly above 38 seconds clearly depicts the sexualisation of a female minor who was compelled in a conversation with the skit-maker to describe his genitals,” the police spokesman said.

The police PR said the command genuinely appreciated the energy and effort invested by every creative mind in their craft, but are against offending the sensibilities of others through violence, sexual abuses and other extremities in the name of entertainment.

Trinity Guy was not the only person remanded, as the court also ordered that the mother and father of the ten-year-old child that appeared in the viral video with the Trinity Guy be detained in prison.

The Prankster, it will be recalled, had earlier said that he had an agreement with the minor’s parents before shooting the skit.

In the same vein, Nigerians have hailed the men of the Nigeria police for taking decisive actions against Trinity Guy, with many hailing it as a right step in the right direction.
