    Tinubu defeats Obi in Benue with 2,096 votes





    The Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Bola Tinubu has won the presidential poll in Benue state. 

    The APC candidate polled a total of 310,468 votes to defeat his closest rival the Labour Party, LP, candidate, Mr, Peter Obi who polled 308,372 votes and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate Alhaji Abubakar Abubakar who garnered 130,081 votes. 

    Declaring the result at the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC headquaters in Makurdi, the State Collation Officer, Prof. Faruk Kuta explained that the total number of Registered voters in the state stood at 2,772,977. 

    According to Prof. Kuta, the total number of accredited voters in the election stood at 804,189, the valid votes cast in the election was 770,075, the total votes cast was 797,762 while the rejects votes in the election stood at 27,687.
