Senator Adeola empowers additional 4,000 beneficiaries

...... explaines why I joined Ogun West Senatorial race

By Peter Adedoyin

The Senatorial candidate for Ogun West, on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, has reiterated that his desire to represent the senatorial district at the 10th National Assembly was borne out of the desire to renew the hope of many downtrodden.

Adeola, disclosed this in Ilaro at the second phase of his Mega empowerment programme where another 4,000 trained beneficiaries were empowered with computer laptops, tricycles, makeup kits, hairdressing salon equipment gas cylinders, cookers and other confectionary equipment, grinding machines, deep freezers, sewing machines, cash grants of N100,000 each for 200 trained physically challenged persons and N80,000 each for 587 Agric Value Chain trainees.

Senator Adeola equally donated additional 25 transformers for 25 communities across the senatorial district for rural electrification projects.

He maintained that, the empowerment programmes would enable the beneficiaries to start making a living and contribute to the socio-economic development of the country.

He added that, his focus was to bring succour and renewed hope for many Nigerians that would have been left with no where to turn to in the face of incapacitating economic challenges facing the people across the country.

He added that the empowerment was in conjunction with Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria and the National Productivity Centre.

He emphasized that the objective of the empowerment was to further impact directly on critical sectors of society in ways to cushion the effects of the downturn of the economy on vulnerable persons.

He urged the beneficiaries to apply the knowledge gained, using their supplied equipment and the grants to increase their various trades, urging them not to sell the equipment for pittance that will vanish in no time.

“In the face of incapacitating economic challenges facing many of our citizenry across the nation, my focus in these facilitations is to bring succor and renewed hope for many Nigerians that would have been left with no where to turn to. By facilitating training and empowerment in equipment and cash grants, beneficiaries can have a start at making a living and contributing to the socio-economic development of our nation".

“There is no doubt that the training and empowerment will make a difference in the lives of the beneficiaries in earning a living, building a business and contributing to the economic development of the society".

“The lucky beneficiaries of today’s programme were drawn from the five local government areas of Ogun West Senatorial District namely, Ado-Odo/Ota, Yewa South, Yewa North, Ipokia and Imeko/Afon".

“My vision here is to further impact directly on critical sectors of the society in ways to cushion the effects of the downturn of the economy on vulnerable persons. Last year alone, I trained and empowered 3,500 Ogun West citizens in various skills with all of them going away with various equipment for their learnt skills as well as startup grants".

"Equally last year, I trained and empowered 200 youths with computer laptops from the senatorial district in the area of ICT, while few weeks back another batch of 445 graduates were trained to be internationally certified in different Microsoft software packages and are each being given a computer laptop today".

“In course of my campaign tour of the senatorial district, I received about 60 requests for electric transformers and I made a promise of donating some transformers to various communities before the February 25 election".

"Today, 25 communities across the district are going back with the promised transformers while others will receive theirs after the election".

“I want to encourage and appeal to all beneficiaries to apply the knowledge gained using their supplied equipment and the grants to increase their various trades. This is not the time to sell equipment for pittance that will vanish in no time".
