The Yewa-Awori Traditional institution has taken the Governorship candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Hon. Ladi Adebutu, over his purported embarrassment of traditional rulers of Yewa-Awori, for recently endorsing the All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial candidate for Ogun West, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola.
The Yewa-Awori Traditional institution, in an open letter signed by Oba Ebenezer Akintunde Akinyemi, the Eselu of Iselu Kingdom, noted with dismay the uncultured attitude and arrogance of Hon. Adebutu.
The letter read in full:
"OPEN LETTER TO YEWA-AWORI TRADITIONAL INSTITUTION CONCERNING THE OUTBURST OF HON. LADI ADEBUTU, THE PEOPLES DEMOCRATIC PARTY (PDP) GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE OVER THE ENDORSEMENT OF SENATOR OLAMILEKAN ADEOLA (YAYI), THE OGUN WEST SENATORIAL CANDIDATE OF THE ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS (APC) BY SOME YEWA-AWORI TRADITIONAL RULERS
I, Oba Ebenezer Akintunde AKINYEMI, JP, FCIMN, The Eselu of Iselu Kingdom, Yewa North Local Government Area, Ogun State became sad the moment I heard and saw the video where Hon. Ladi ADEBUTU, The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship Candidate in Ogun State publicly embarrassed some Yewa-Awori Obas who prayed for Senator Olamilekan ADEOLA (Yayi), The All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial Candidate for Ogun West in the forthcoming 2023 General Elections.
Some Obas, including my humble self, have watched the video where Hon. Ladi ADEBUTU talks arrogantly and embarrasses Kabiyesis, but we will not join issues with him because of his uncultured attitude and arrogance in the political space of Ogun State.
To put the records straight, it is important to NOTE that:
(1) The action of Hon. Ladi ADEBUTU has clearly shown that if someone has money without a sound culture, it makes such an individual brainless.
(2) Hon. Ladi ADEBUTU who has always been a serial loser in Ogun State politics managed to win the House of Representatives position which was facilitated some years ago by His Excellency, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, a former Governor of Ogun State.
(3) Since his exit from the National Assembly, Hon. Ladi ADEBUTU has been struggling to win one post or the other. His lack of respect for elders and many politicians has always made him a failure.
(4) His intolerance and arrogance made His Excellency, Otunba Gbenga Daniel decamped from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
(5) It is obvious that he has been taking his luck too far. He needs to know that the goodwill he is enjoying in Ogun State is due to the love people have for his father, Chief Kensington ADEBUTU (Baba Ijebu).
(6) He talks rudely and carelessly and this has made some political leaders in Ogun State abandon him. He is so arrogant that he always wants his opinions to override other people's opinions. He is the reason why the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) cannot win in Ogun State after eight (8) years of Otunba Gbenga Daniel as Ogun State Governor.
(7) Yewa-Awori Traditional Rulers must note that Hon. Ladi ADEBUTU does not deserve to be elected as Governor of Ogun State because if he wins (God forbid), he will be ordering people to beat up Kabiyesis. In view of his mannerless behaviour, Yewa Traditional Council takes his outburst seriously and we will ensure he is not received and welcomed in our Council.
(8) Hon. Ladi ADEBUTU cannot manage Ogun State because of his inability to manage his party's men and women. His lack of leadership skills has made it difficult for him to manage the likes of Chief Segun Sowunmi, Chief Jimi Lawal, and Chief Buruji Kashamu (of blessed memory) whom he did not mend fences with until his death.
(9) We, Yewa Traditional Rulers have endorsed a man who is a Prince and who has respect for Traditional Rulers in the person of His Excellency, Prince Dapo ABIODUN whose first term in Office has brought tremendous developments to all the nooks and crannies of our dear Ogun State.
(10) Also, we stand on our endorsement for Chief Olamilekan ADEOLA (Yayi) who is contesting the Ogun West Senatorial Seat on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He deserves our absolute support on the day of his election, i.e Satuday, 25th February, 2023 because of the massive empowerment programs he has been doing in Yewa and Ogun State in general.
(11) Given his disrespect for Traditional Institutions, we (Yewa-Awori Obas) are determined to direct all our subjects (regardless of their social status) to withdraw their support for Hon. Ladi ADEBUTU to serve as a deterrent to other politicians who may want to denigrate the revered traditional institutions.
(12) I must use this medium to implore the good sons and daughters of Yewa Land who might have heard of or seen the said video to ignore and reject the gubernatorial ambition of Hon. Ladi ADEBUTU, come Saturday, 11th March 2023.
(13) No politician from Ogun West has ever embarrassed and insulted traditional rulers the way the disgruntled Ladi ADEBUTU has done to us. In Ogun State, no politician will be allowed to bring the Traditional Institutions to disrepute due to his/her selfish ambition.
(14) Finally, Yewa-Awori Traditional Rulers, sons, and daughters of Yewa Land must vote massively for the incumbent Governor, Prince Dapo ABIODUN on Saturday, 11th March 2023 to enable Ogun East (Ijebu Land) to complete their second term in office.
