Polls: I'll not let you down - Senator Adeola assures constituents

By Oladunni Adeniyi

The Senator-elect, Ogun West Senatorial District of Ogun State, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, has pledged a meaningful and quality representation at the Red Chambers of the National Assembly.

Adeola, who made the pledge in an appreciation letter, he personally signed and made available to newsmen in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, promised that 'he will not let them down'

He acknowledged the roles played by individuals and groups, which he said culminated to his victory at the polls on Saturday.

Adeola said, "Now that our people have spoken with their votes, they deserve to be so respected in their choice and offered a meaningful and quality representation".

"It is in this light that I pledge not to let them down. I pledge to fulfil my part of the social contract and covenant with Ogun Westerners to deliver on my manifesto and take Ogun West to an enviable position that we shall all be proud of, irrespective of our political affiliation".

The letter read, "Now that the official result of the senatorial election in Ogun West has been declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and the good people of Ogun West are savouring the reality that the Almighty God has granted me the opportunity to serve the Senatorial District in the Red Chamber come June, 2023, I have found it expedient and compeling to formally register my appreciation for this great honour done to me".

"I have watched with keen interest and elation how many of our people across the five local government areas trooped out with great enthusiasm, against all odds, to cast their votes which expressly gave me their mandate".

"I have been greatly overwhelmed by the unprecedented high vote of 112,887, the highest so recorded in the history of the district and which is more than double the votes recorded by my closest contender".

"I have been humbled by the show of love and affection expressed by our people across social, political, age, gender and cultural divide".

"I thank all our traditional rulers in the Yewa Traditional Council and Awori Obas’ Forum, Ogun West Council of Baales, Chiefs, Community Development Associations, Market Men and Women, Artisans, various Ethnic Groups, Youths and Students who had openly endorsed my candidacy for their unrelenting support and encouragement".

"I am also indebted to my political family in Ogun West and Ogun State, at large. I thank His excellency, Governor Adedapo Abiodun MFR and the leadership of our great party, the APC, for giving me the opportunity to fly the banner of the party as a Senatorial candidate in Ogun State".

"I appreciate the leadership and members of the APC in Ogun West, for the confidence they reposed in me and for believing in my capacity to offer meaningful representation to the good people of Ogun West".

"I salute and admire their courage, doggedness and support even in the face of blatant aggression and aspersions from the opposition".

"I cannot forget the great contributions of the leadership and members of my Campaign Board (YAYICO) for their zeal, sacrifice and resourcefulness which had given us a robust campaign across all the 59 wards in Ogun West. It is my commitment and prayer that their labour will not be in vain".

"For me and my supporters, we have taken this result with humility and gratitude to God Almighty for His grace which he grants to whosoever He deems fit. Now that our people have spoken with their votes, they deserve to be so respected in their choice and offered a meaningful and quality representation".

"It is in this light that I pledge not to let them down. I pledge to fulfil my part of the social contract and covenant with Ogun Westerners to deliver on my manifesto and take Ogun West to an enviable position that we shall all be proud of, irrespective of our political affiliation.I therefore call on all well-meaning people of Ogun West, including my brothers who have contested this seat with me, to join hands with me in the months and years ahead, so that we can all provide an auspicious and conducive environment for Ogun West to excel".

"Once again, I appreciate and pray for God's unending blessing on you all".
