The Arewa community in Ogun West comprising Hausas, Fulanis and some other tribes from Northern Nigeria, residing in Ogun West senatorial district have endorsed the aspiration of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Solomon Adeola, to be the senator of Ogun West in the February 25 National Assembly Election.

The group with over 50,000 persons across the five local government areas that made up Ogun West converged at the Asade Agunloye Pavilion, Ilaro to endorse Senator Adeola and other APC candidates in all the forth coming elections.

Speaking through the Seriki Hausa of Ilaro, Alhaji Musa Lawal, the Arewa community said that even before his coming to contest for senate seat in Ogun West, they are aware of his performance in Lagos and in Ogun State adding that they are also aware of his supportive role to President Mohammadu Buhari in the National Assembly.

“We are giving you our support wholly as you have demonstrated that you have the interest of the people at heart. We are okay with you as the candidate we will vote for. In Hausa language your nickname ‘Yayi’ means okay or enough. So, you are okay as our senator in the February election” the Seriki Hausa stated.

Alhaji Lawal stated that majority of them were born and bred in Ogun West leading to their fluency in not only Yoruba language but in aspects of the culture of Yorubas, stressing that it is a recent anomaly that disrupted the peaceful co-existence with their host leading to insecurity and loss of live and property.

He called on the senator to work towards consolidating the peaceful co-existence among them and their Yoruba host, stressing that they are for national unity and one united Nigeria leading to their support for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu for president as well as other APC candidates.

Other Serikis who spoke in similar vein includes Alhaji Ibrahim Usman, the Seriki of Atokun International Cattle Market, Ayetoro, Alhaji Abubakar Musa, Seriki Fulani, Igan-Okoto, Alhaji Musa Adamu, Seriki of Ado Odo Ota, Alhaji Mohammed Jimoh, Seriki Fulani of Idofa, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq, Seriki Fulani of Imeko, Alhaji Abubakar Mohammed, Seriki Fulani of Afon, Alhaji Summo Leleji, Seriki Fulani of Iwoye, Alhaji Lambe Aliyu Bakare, Balogun Fulani of Afon and Alhaji Kabir Labaran from Abeokuta who joined his kith in Ogun West.

Responding to their support for his aspiration and APC, Senator Adeola stated that he is amazed that  they all spoke the Yoruba language fluently without exception he look forward to build on the existing peaceful co-existence between the Arewa community and their host stressing that he would be the senator of all with all his constituents having access to him and benefitting from his service at the parliament.

“I am going to be the senator for all and you can be assured that you will be part of all my empowerment programme including the one I am doing next week in all sectors of skills acquisition.

During my ward to ward tour, I donated a transformer to the Atokun Market as well as N1 million Naira for its installation. We are all one as brothers and sisters in Nigeria and I can see that even one of your woman leader can speak Awori language fluently than some of us” the senator stated.

He urged them to remain law abiding and support APC which is the only party seriously promoting and working for national unity with its adherence to the North South rotation of power in Nigeria.

The senator later received over 100 decampes from PDP in Yewa North LGA led by Gabriel Aramide, the Akogun of Sala-Orile and a former PDP aspirant as well as some APM members from Yewa South LGA, according to Chief Kayode Odunaro, Director, Media and Communications, Senator Solomon Adeola Campaign Organization.
