An Osun State Magistrate Court sitting in Osogbo, has sentenced one Sunday Adebayo to three years in correctional facility for stealing phone and two pairs of slippers.
The convict, was said to have stole an iPad phone, two pairs of slippers and cash sum of N10,000 at Oke-Oro area of Fiwasaye in Osogbo.
The said ipad and two pairs of slippers were valued at N61,000 belonging to one Jimoh Adedigba, whose house was burgled by the convict at about 6pm.
According to police prosecutor, Adeoye Kayode, offences committed by the convict were contrary to and punishable under sections 412, 383 and 390(9) of criminal code Cap 34 vol. II laws of Osun State Nigeria 2002.
Adebayo pleaded guilty to the two counts preferred against him, as his defence counsel, pleaded with the court to tender justice with mercy.
In his judgement, Magistrate A. Ajala declared Adebayo guilty as pleaded on the two charges and sentenced him to 3years on each count.
He added that the terms is to run concurrently and with an option of fine to the tune of N10,000 for each count.
