Ahead of the 2023 general election, the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Iyorchia Ayu, on Thursday suffered a gaffe when he said "the party has brought shame to Nigeria and should not be allowed in power".
Speaking at the Kano presidential rally of the PDP, Ayu had slip-of-tongue and accused his party, the PDP, of bringing shame to Nigeria.
The Benue-born politician quickly corrected himself when party chieftains who shared the stage with him drew his attention to the error.
He swiftly said “APC”.
Earlier, Atiku Abubakar, the presidential flag-bearer of the PDP visited Aminu Ado Bayero, the Emir of Kano. The former Vice-President led his team to the Emir’s palace on a courtesy visit ahead of the PDP’s rally in Kano which was well-attended.
He also commissioned the Gwani Muhammadu Dan Gunduwawa Qur’anic College in the state.
