Reprisal over Killing of 33 Wives: Boko Haram flee as ISWAP Storm Sambisa Camp

Scores of Jamā’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’wah wa’l-Jihād (Boko Haram) terrorists at the weekend fled as the Islamic State of the West African Province(ISWAP), stormed their stronghold in Gaizuwa, Bama Local Government Area of Borno State in a reprisal attack.

Sources said the terrified Boko Haram elements fled their camp on Sunday when Ba’ana Chingor, a Commander of ISWAPi led dozens of ISWAP terrorists in four Hilux trucks mounted with Anti Aircraft Guns and motorcycles, to attack them in Abu Ikilima’s camp.

It would be recalled that barely a week ago, on December 3, angry Boko Haram fighters eliminated 33 wives of ISWAP to revenge the killing of its Commander, Malam Aboubakar (Munzir) and 15 other fighters who were neutralized in a deadly infighting by ISWAP.

The deadly attack which was spearheaded by Ali Ngulde, a 25 year old notorious JAS Commander and five Khaids comprising of Muke from Mandara Mountain, Ali Ghana, from Ngauri, Abbah Tukur from Mantari, Maimusari and Abu Isa, has led to killing of scores of ISWAP.

Counter Insurgency Expert and Security Analyst in the Lake Chad, Zagazola Makama who monitored the battle disclosed that the strength of the fighting militants deployed in the battle were about 320 fighters, with 250 of them armed with Ak 47 riffle and a minimum of 8 vehicles and 50 motorcycles.

The source said that the Boko Haram elements took to their heels when they discovered the strength of the ISWAP was too much for them, leaving behind women and children in their camps.

Addressing the women, Chingori warned his fighters not to touch any women or children, an action that surprised observers who predicted a revenge of the killing of ISWAP wives by Boko Haram.

“We should not attack their women like they did to us", he said, describing the Boko Haram as “cowards” who could not stand the strength of the “Soldiers of Khalifah”.

He vowed that no matter where they run to, they (ISWAP) will find them (BHT) and eliminate all of them.

Meanwhile, Zagazola learnt that the leadership of the Boko Haram have appealed for reinforcement of JAS fighters from Marte, Krinowa as well as the border of Chad, Cameroon and Niger Republic, to enable it defeat ISWAP and reclaim its territories.

The raging deadly clashes between the two rival terror groups which some observers have described as providential, is pushing them to the inevitable point of self-destruction.

Both fighters have vowed to ferociously battle each other even more than the Nigerian military.
