Double Wahala For Abeokuta-Lagos/Ibadan Train Travellers

There is nothing Nigerians do not suck in, ranging from the absudity of buying electricity equipment for electricity distribution companies; pervasive insecurity of lives and property; providing access roads that should have been otherwise provided by the various tiers of government, particularly the local government.

The list is plethora. Rather than improving on the performance index of governance, successive governments become worst off in the country, making foreign nationals, especially the Chinese, to assume responsibility of determine how natives must live because of our leaders surrendered sovereignty.

Part of the abdication of the responsibilities of governance is allowing handlers of the Abeokuta/Lagos/Ibadan to feed residents of contiguous communities like Ogo-Oluwa CDA, Liberty Estate, Harmony Estate, Ifesowapo, Elefun and Ori-Osoko in no particular order with hardship.

These communities woke up to undiscussed Road blockage from Immigration office to the  Station, on November 21 and that was it.

Without any social responsibility of community engagement or and palliative on the tortuous Kemta-Idi Aba Road offered as alternative, imagine somebody coming  from Oke-Mosan axis, for instance,  being asked to use Kemta Idi Aba to access the WOLE SOYINKA train station!.

This inconvenience is being made worse because the so called alternative route has never been considered for palliative despite its very bad condition. Only God know who interceded before the OKEMOSAN TRAIN STATION access was opened between December 1 and the morning of 4th only to be shut again in the evening of that same day. Somebody needs to stand up and protect the suffering  people of Nigerians.

Once upon a time along the train station-OkeMosan Road, a woman with two minors going to school had been detained and traumatised for hours on end.  Her transgresson: Her rickety Golf car hit a HILUX TRUCKr belonging to the Federal Ministry of Transportation of the federal government of Nigeria. The poor woman was charged N8k and it was collected by the Chinese using the HILUX.

Its no fable. It happened and the pupils missed better part of classes that day. I pleaded with a soldier attached to the Chinese to let the woman off the hook. The NA man said his Boss, the Chinese man can rope him in with the Nigerian Military Authorities!.

Because we have sucked in the closure of that road without an enduring protest, a new fare regime for travellers has been announced without corresponding improvement in the conditions of the roads leading to and fro the Station. The new fee regime kicks off today amidst journing to Ibadan in a room on account of passing turtous and bad roads to link the station.

Who will restore the dignities of Nigerians and Nigeria. Wither is her sovereignty. Who will bell the cart . May God help and deliver our Country
