Police recovers stolen vehicle in Calabar






The Cross River State Police Command has recovered a red Toyota Corolla with registration number CKK 904 AA stolen from Marian Market in Calabar Municipality Local government area.


It was learned that the criminals who stole the Vehicle monitored the owner while she was buying food items from the market before whisking it away.

A security source who pleaded anonymity said the vehicle was stolen on 9th of March , 2022 at Marian Market while the owner entered the market to get food items and when she came out the red Toyota Corolla had "disappeared".

"We recovered the vehicle along LEMNA road while on Patrol where it was abandoned by the unknown criminals who stole it nine months ago.

"The particulars we discovered were bearing the name of one Mrs Obal Ogar of NAF Quarters calabar , we have also contacted the owner to come and claim the vehicle 

The owner of the Vehicle, Mrs Ogar lauded the Commissioner of Police ,  Sule  Balarabe and Awodi Abdulhameed led Anti Cultism and Kidnapping Squad who recoverd the vehicle.

She said :" Even though it's been almost nine months since they stole the vehicle , I had lost hope that it will ever be recovered 

I was  surprised when I got a call from Anti Cultism and Kidnapping Squad that a vehicle with particulars  bearing my  name has been recoverd , 

"I'm elated and grateful to the Commissioner of Police , CP Sule Balarabe and his men especially SP Awodi Abdulhameed , Commander Anti Cultism and Kidnapping Squad his kind gesture, I had lost hope I will ever get my car back again," Mrs Ogar said.

When contacted the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Irene Ugbo who confirmed the recovery urged members of the public to always have faith in the police and ensure they share authentic information with the command.
