Lagos Police arrest 11 for breach of peace

Four friends were seriously injured on Wednesday, when 11 friends reportedly fought dirty in Oko-Oba, Agege, Lagos State. 

The 11 have been arrested by men of Rapid Response Squad, RRS for breach of peace.

The incident occurred at about 2.45am, in one of the hotels around Oke-Oba. 

The 11 were said to have lodged in the hotel the previous day but fight broke out at about 2.30am and four of them were seriously injured during the fight.

Residents said broken bottles were freely used during the fight which disrupted peace in the area and caused sleepless nights among co-lodgers, workers and residents. 

Narrating what transpired, a resident of New Oko-Oba Charles Ehitegbulem said men of RRS who were on patrol got wind of the situation and razed to the scene at about 2.45pm, rounded them up and took them to Oko-Oba Division for peace to reign in the area. 

He said four of them were seriously injured during the fight with broken bottles during the clash.

At press time, the friends were still in custody of the Police. 

However, the Rapid Response Squad on it's social media pages said, “Around 2:45 a.m. today, our officers on patrol arrested 11 members of rival cult gangs involved in a violent clash in a hotel (name withheld) in Agege.

“Four of them were viciously injured with broken bottles during the fight

They have been transferred to Oko Oba, Agege Police Division, in line with the directive of our Commander, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi.”
