Family of five perish in Bauchi auto crash





Five family members were killed in a fatal car crash at Isma Village in Bauchi State.

The crash occurred at 7.50 a.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2022. Two additional people sustained different degrees of injuries.

Alhaji Sulaiman Kayarda and his children and grandchildren were identified as the victims.

Yusuf Abdullahi (Commander, Federal Road Safety Corp Bauchi State), disclosed the details to journalists. 

He said that two vehicles were involved in the crash. One was a petrol tanker belonging to AIB Petroleum and one was a private vehicle, a Peugeot 406

He stated that seven people were involved in the crash, including three male adults, three women adults, and one child.

Abdullahi stated that the crash was caused due to a speed violation. He also said that it took 26 minutes for the FRSC rescue team to reach the crash scene.


“Immediately our rescue team got to the scene after 26 minutes that we were informed, they rushed the victims to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital for treatment and confirmation,” he said.

“It was when they got to the hospital that a medical doctor confirmed five people; two male adults, two female adults, and one female child, dead.”
