The incident happened  in Kusherki village in Rafi local government area of the state three weeks ago while working in a farm in one of the villages.

Our Correspondent gathered that the children are between the ages of four to ten years.
Four of them are said to be male while the remaining sixteen  are female.

They are presently in a very precarious situation it was learnt.

An impeccable source from the area, Alhaji Auwal Usman who confirmed this, said it was the believe that the children would be released by the bandits almost immediately considering their age but that for now, the children are still languishing in the hands of their abductors.

"We have been negotiating with the bandits since the children were abducted but yet to have a break through.

"From our statistics, four of the children are male while the remaining sixteen are female.

He said the parents and the villagers are now helpless and therefore appealed to the state government security agencies and individuals to come to their aid by way of rescuing the innocent children alive.

" Niger state government is not resting on its oars to rid Nigerlites of all forms of crime and criminality and presently working assiduously in conjunction with conventional and non conventional forces to rescue them alive and unhurt," he assured.
