Ahead of 2023 elections, former Vice President and the Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, the flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the Candidate of Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi and the presidential candidate of Social Democratic Party, SDP, Prince Adewole Adebayo have been selected to participate in the town hall series to intimate Nigerians on the plans for the country if elected as President respectively.
Also to appear for the meeting is the Presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, just as the Presidential candidates are to participate in “The Candidates’ presidential town hall series.
The town hall series, supported by MacArthur Foundation is a live television broadcast to feature the Presidential and Vice-Presidential candidates of the six leading political parties.
The town hall series, an original Daria Media concept, also supported by the NTA and YouTube, according to organizers, will be launched on the 17th of November, 2022 and will be live on NTA, FRCN, Radio Now, DSTV, Youtube, Facebook and more.
In a statement yesterday the Africa Director of the MacArthur Foundation, Kole Shettima, the parties were selected using a combination of editorial judgement, aggregated polls by the Centre for Democracy and Development, CDD, occupation of elective offices and presence across the country.
According to him, the foundation is privileged to support an opportunity for Nigerians to interact with the leading Presidential candidates in the 2023 general elections.
Prince Adewole Adebayo of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, and his running mate, Alh. Yusuf Buhari, are expected to appear on the programme on the 17th of November, 2022.
The Candidates’ Presidential town hall will take place as follows: Prince Adewole Adebayo and running mate, Alh. Yusuf Buhari, of the Social Democratic Party – 17th November, 2022; Mr. Omoyele Stephen Sowore and running mate, Barrister Haruna Garba Magashi, of the African Action Congress Party –18th November, 2022; Senator Rabiu Musa Nwankwaso and running mate, Bishop Isaac Idahosa, of the New Nigeria Peoples Party -19th November, 2022.
Peter Obi (CON) and running mate, Dr. Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, of the Labour Party – 21st November 2022; Atiku Abubakar and running mate, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa of the Peoples Democratic Party – 22nd November, 2022 while Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and running mate, Senator Shettima Kashim of the All Progressives Congress Party are scheduled for 23rd November 2022.
Kadaria Ahmed, a leading Nigerian broadcaster and Journalist, will moderate each town hall. She has been moderating Presidential Debates and town halls since the 2011 elections.

"In the Candidates Presidential Townhall series we are delivering six presidential townhalls and 7 pundit shows with leading national commentators hosting these conversations before each town hall.
