Perjury Allegation: Investigate Bola Tinubu -- CSO tells IGP

A Civil Society Group, Advocacy For Societal Rights Advancement  and Development Initiative (ASRADI) has given the Inspector General of Police, two weeks ultimatum to investigate the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for perjury noting that the former Governor of Lagos State ‘lied under oath’ over his educational qualifications.

The petition said, “Bola Ahmed Tinubu filled in 1999 when he presented himself for the Lagos State In the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination form which governorship election, he claimed to have attended the following schools:

1) St. Paul Aroloya (Lagos)

2) Children Home School, Ibadan

3) Government College, Ibadan and

4) University of Chicago

“It has since been discovered that he lied on oath in every material particular. As a matter of fact, St Paul Aroloya (Lagos) has never existed.


In a petition made available to Vanguard, dated 31 October 2022 titled, ‘Investigation of Bola Ahmed Tinubu For Lying On Oath’, submitted to the office of the Inspector General of Police, and signed by the Executive Director, Adeolu Oyinlola, ENCL, the group urged the IGP to “Please cause an investigation into this allegation of ours within two (2) weeks of the receipt of this correspondence, and initiate prosecution if it is established that he swore to an affidavit-knowing full well that what he stated therein was and is false.



The petition was accompanied with a document listing the educational institutions attended with dates by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
