Ogun State which is commonly referred to as the Gateway State is one of the very few State in Nigeria that parades eminent, strong, resourceful, glamorous and impactful politicians from the time of the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Pa Abraham Adesanya, Chief Olabisi Onabanjo, Chief MKO Abiola, Chief Mrs HID Awolowo, Senator Jubril Mathins Kuye, Senator Buruji Kachamu etc, all of blessed memories.
Presently, Ogun State is still very much blessed with notable and respectful politicians such as Chief Olusegun Obasonjo GCFR (former Nigeria President), Prof. Yemi Osibajo (the incumbent Vice President, Federal Republic of Nigeria) Chief Olusegun Osoba, Otunba Gbenga Daniel (OGD), Senators - Ibikunle Amosun, Lekan Mustapha, Solomon Adeola, the House of Representatives Deputy Minority Whip - Aremo Segun Adekoya (Attacker) Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Ishola, the incumbent Governor Dapo Abiodun and host of others too numerous to mention.
Otunba Gbenga Daniel ( OGD) is one special breed and a rare grassroot politician who believes so much in grassroot development, emancipation and empowerment.
Prior to OGD emergence as the Executive Governor of Ogun State ( 2003 - 2011), His Excellency deemed it fit to visit all the electoral Wards across the length and breath of Ogun State. OGD movement then, was more than ordinary visits as most of the needs of the common people were taken into consideration, acted upon during his two terms succssful administration.
The Gateway Front Foundation (GFF), a Non Governmental Organization headed by YEYE Olufunke Daniel was equally on ground then providing solutions to people's problems - economy, health and general welfare.

The Ward - Ward tour which began last Monday at Ijebu North East LG is aimed at leeding hundreds of people out of poverty as multimillion naira empowerments items such as Tractors, Toyota Highlanders, Nissan Cars, Deep Freezers, Generators, Swewing Machines, Grinding Machines etc are freely / readily available for the people.
Otunba Gbenga Daniel (OGD) is the most celebrated and valuable politician presently in Ogun State due to his closeness to the people, unequal philanthropic gestures and large hearth.
Most of the existing public infrastructures in Ogun east senatorial district bear the signatures of Otunba Gbenga Daniel as the Executive Governor of Ogun State. No wonder, OGD is evergreen.
Thousands of Ogun State men and women benefited from the various empowerment / employment opportunities created by Otunba Gbenga Daniel before, during and after his tenure as Ogun State Governor.
Otunba Gbenga Daniel is the only former Ogun State Governor who established some his private business in Ogun State for the benefit of the people of Ogun State in terms of creating employment opportunities for the unemployed young men/women.
OGD being an household name, enjoys the natural love and respect from old and young in the society.
The good people of Ogun east senatorial district have unanimously agreed to vote for Otunba Gbenga Daniel as the next distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria come 2023.
Otunba Gbenga Daniel stay in the Red Chamber of the National Assembly will be so much impactful as many federal projects / institutions will be facilitated and many lives will be lifted.
