Ogun promises continued support to trade associations

The Ogun State government says it will continue to support trade associations by creating enabling environment for them to operate in line with the international best practices, towards promoting technical and vocational training.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Technical and Vocational Education, Prof. Joseph Odemuyiwa gave the assurance in Abeokuta, at a brainstorming session with the National Association of Technical and Vocational School Proprietors of Nigeria (NATEVOSPON).

He noted that the present administration recognised them as partners in progress in its drive to provide employment for the teeming youths.

He said education without vocational training had a lot of limitations, pointing out that the awareness and campaign for people to embrace technical and vocational training had received boost under the current administration.

In his remark, the National Vice President of the Association, Elder Amao Joseph applauded Governor Dapo Abiodun for turning around in the sector and expressed delight at the various interventions in the technical and vocational education in the State, describing it as unprecedented.

Also speaking, the Vice President of the Association, Mr. Kazeem Ajajunjeun, also appreciated the present administration for promoting technical and vocational training, listing some of the benefits the association had enjoyed to include, reduction in registration fee, increase in students’ enrollment, periodic engagement, among others.
