Oba Ayinde Odetola buried amidst tears and tight security




 The remains of Olu of Agodo, Oba Ayinde Odetola were on Wednesday committed to mother earth in  the ancient town of Agodo in Ewekoro local government area of Ogun State, amidst tears and wailing with water tight security arrangements.

Guests and residents started arriving at the venue early in the day to give the departed monarch a rousing farewell.

All vehicles and motorcycles coming to the town were thoroughly searched before allowing to proceed to the designated area for motor parks.

Delivering the sermon at the interdenominational funeral Service, Pastor quoting from the scripture admonished perpetrators of evil to have a change of heart in order to avoid divine destruction of their lives.

The clergyman noted further, "It is a common knowledge that Oba Odetola was not involved in an accident, or sick or died peacefully in his sleep, but he was brutally murdered." 

He queried further "what offence could he have committed to warrant his killing in the hands of his people"

"Those who cannot give life should not take it, but they committed the offence and ran away"

 He praised the efforts of the police for exceptional performance in this case in which a good number of the suspects were apprehended and arraigned in the court.

The clergy man later prayed for the family and the body in white casket was later intered in the family compound around 4pm 


The burial witnessed a large turnout and present at the occasion were, representatives of Obas, Imo Council of Chiefs, members of Estate Developers Association, residents of the nearby villages,  a large contingents of the Army, Police, So-safe Corps, Vigilante DSS and wellwishers.

It will be recalled that Oba Odetola was brutally murdered on January 24th, 2022  in Agodo. 

A total number of 26 suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder and currently been held at the Oba Correctional center in Abeokuta following a court order.

Earlier the Imo Chiefs have performed a traditional burial rites before the service.
