The two abducted students of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Ogun State, and a former Deputy Vice Chancellor(Academic) of the University of Ibadan, Adigun Agbaje, have been released by their abductors
Their release by their captors came 48 hours in the captivity on Sunday evening.
They are now reunited with their ecstatic family members.
It would be recalled that the two students; Olayemi Adejare and Oluwatobi Orekoya, and the don were kidnapped on Friday around 6pm around the Guru Maharaj Garden area along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The kidnappers had contacted the families of their victims, and demanded N50 million for the release of Agbaje, while N10 million each was demanded for the two students.
It was gathered that the N2.2 million was paid to secure their release of Orekoya and her friend identified as Aminat Taiwo.
Unconfirmed reports have it that another victim, Adejare and the professor also paid undisclosed amounts of money before they regained their freedom.
A close relative of Orekoya, who gave his name as Segun Orekoya confirmed her release.
He said, “It is confirmed, they have been released this evening. The two girls were released after the kidnappers collected N2. 2 million ransom.
“They are presently at home with their families, but I am not at the family’s house right now, I don’t have the full details, but I know they have been released.”
